We are looking for a Sr. Strategic Brand Designer to join our close-knit (and steadily growing) team of designers & creative thinkers.

We are looking for a Sr. Strategic Brand Designer to join our close-knit (and steadily growing) team of designers & creative thinkers.

While stepping into this position, you will join a team that takes immense pride in working with Indian businesses and entrepreneurs that have humble beginnings and massive ambition. Most of these are brands that speak directly to the consumer (D2C).  You will play a leading role in crafting purposeful brands that stand to shape perspectives and challenge the status quo.

Over the years we’ve realised that people usually split these functions (strategy + design) but we firmly believe a Brand Designer should be able to translate strategic insight into design decisions. This doesn’t mean you need to be a strategist, but it does mean you need to be able to think critically about the visual design language of the brand in relationship to the people it's for and the positioning that’s been determined.

Your design process needs to be insightful and ideally you should always begin with research before you put pen to paper (or stylus to screen). Goes without saying that you need to be really good with your design skills and need a solid portfolio to back that!

As a Strategic Brand Designer, you will: 

  • Work closely with the Creative Director to develop and implement purposeful brand strategies that resonate with the vision of both young and established Indian entrepreneurs & businesses we work with. 

  • Collaborate with the Creative Director, Design Manager and clients to understand project objectives and define deliverables, while maintaining an understanding of market dynamics of every unique project.

  • Establish the appropriate creative approach, and create concepts based on the characteristics of a brand in various industries and styles, by incorporating strategic illustration, typography, and color science.

  • A strong understanding of typography is an absolute must for this role. Ideally, you should have a hands on approach to this and even be comfortable with exploring custom typography that is scalable,  technically sound and memorable.

  • You look at branding holistically and are able to not just think of logo concepts in isolation but scalable visual design systems for brands that will evolve over time but need to have a consistent language.

  • Represent the Thought Over Design team externally, present creative concepts and provide creative consultation during client meetings. 

  • Work closely with the in-house design team and collaborating specialists to ensure that the brand strategy is brought to life through appropriate use of graphic design, art, copy and other unique elements required for every project. 

  • Review and assess graphic and written materials to ensure they are effective and appropriate based on brand strategy and project requirements.

Requirements: 

  • Minimum 5–7 years of work experience in a creative agency or design studio.

  • 3–4 year related diploma / degree.

  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates your ability to develop original, creative brand identities and visual design systems across various type of media (static / motion).

  • Possess outstanding attention to detail (which means nothing gets past you) and an eagerness to jump in and get your hands dirty when needed.

  • Be an effective communicator for presenting creative work and facilitating a creative review with clients, while being highly accountable for managing client expectations, timelines and budgets.

  • Display strong creative, organizational, problem solving and time-management.

  • Prior experience in conceptualising, art directing and working with talent on brand photo shoots & production is a plus.

  • Experience in designing for digital platforms and conceptualising at a UX / UI stage is a massive plus!

About remote working:

  • Our work hours are 10:30am IST to 7:30pm IST. If you’re applying from another country, your availability at this time is key.

  • Access to a functioning laptop (with tools you may use like a tablet or surface) and good data / internet access is an absolute must.
