BRANDING | IDENTITY DESIGN
Rainmaker is a fantasy gaming app centred around the stock and cryptocurrency markets. It is the first app to incorporate both markets in the fantasy gaming space.
The founders envisioned inspiring a whole new generation of crypto-curious investors whom they like to call the Gen-I. They wanted to enable this new generation to learn investment strategies on Rainmaker and apply them in real life.
They approached us to design the branding and we were excited to be a part of such a revolutionary product.
Building the user profile
Research led us to realise that this new Gen-I that we were looking at wasn’t a traditional target audience which can be described with attributes like age, gender or location.
Among the millions who find crypto-currency and stock trading fascinating, a few are really crypto-curious.

The logo was designed to be vibrant and dynamic to cue gaming and motion. The distinct moving parts come together to suggest rainmaker is more than the sum of its parts.

Colours
The colour scheme and gradient map were designed to signify motion and energy. Just like the movements on stock and crypto-markets.
We designed the palette to stay away from stark blacks or whites and introduced the ivory and ebony black. This also helped us create the gradient map which now looks like a spectrum reminiscent of a journey.
Typography
Typography
The brand typeface ‘Nippo’ is a strong and sharp variable font. It was chosen to provide contrast to the fluid lines and gradients with its geometric construction.
